
Hello, I’m Erkan Koymen, a physics educator, school administrator, and lifelong learner with over two decades of experience in science education.
My academic journey began at Akdeniz University, where I earned both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physics. After graduation, I worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Physics, participating in research projects, contributing to scientific publications, and developing a strong foundation in experimental and computational physics.
Over the years, my career shifted from academic research to education, where I discovered my true passion: helping students understand physics in a meaningful and intuitive way. Since then, I have taught physics across a wide range of educational systems, including the Turkish National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE & A-Level, International Baccalaureate (IB), and Advanced Placement (AP) programs.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have supervised numerous STEM and TÜBİTAK research projects, mentoring students in physics, engineering, programming, and experimental design. Many of these projects have received awards at regional and national competitions, reflecting the value of inquiry-based and project-oriented learning.
Today, I serve as Vice Principal at a leading private science high school in Antalya, where I contribute to both the academic and administrative development of the school. While my responsibilities now extend beyond the classroom, teaching remains an important part of my professional life. I continue to work with students through private mentoring and one-to-one instruction, supporting learners preparing for IGCSE, A-Level, IB, AP, and the Turkish university entrance examinations (YKS).
Alongside my work in education, I am building this website as a long-term educational project. My goal is to create a comprehensive collection of high-quality physics notes and learning resources that are clear, accurate, and freely accessible to students around the world. Every article published here is carefully written, reviewed, and continuously improved to make physics easier to understand without sacrificing scientific accuracy.
Beyond physics itself, I have always been interested in technology, electronics, educational software, and engineering projects. That curiosity has influenced both my teaching philosophy and the way I develop educational materials. I believe that physics becomes most meaningful when students are encouraged not only to solve problems, but also to build, investigate, question, and create.
